It’s not enough to decode words automatically; students need to connect those words to meanings. F.A.S.T. Reading: Comprehension equips students—especially struggling learners—with the active comprehension and writing strategies they need to succeed in all subject areas. Students develop higher-level thinking processes and learn to synthesize information, employ effective writing techniques, and gain study skills that they will use for years to come.

You’ll move students from simple word recognition to reading-for-meaning with such proven strategies as visualization, perspective taking, vocabulary & figurative language, and metacognitive reading. As students learn how to engage more deeply and meaningfully with diverse texts, they become better equipped to ask—and answer—increasingly complex content questions.
