Achieve Reading Success for All Your Students

F.A.S.T. Reading Program

Research unequivocally shows that explicit, systematic reading instruction improves student outcomes. The F.A.S.T. Reading Program, a research-based literacy program, delivers that instruction. It combines systematic phonics, morphological awareness, orthographic knowledge, auditory processing, and literature-based instruction to create a streamlined, multisensory program that includes immediate reading application.

Grounded in Phonological Systematic Phonics and Aligned to the Common Core Standards

The F.A.S.T. Reading Program teaches the essential skills of phonemic identification, blending, segmenting, and manipulation of sounds. It also includes multisensory exercises that develop the phonological processing necessary for fluid reading. Students learn a global approach to decode words and to recognize letter combinations as cues for both the semantic features of words and their meaning, which is essential for them to succeed in their core classrooms.

Like all F.A.S.T. Learning’s curriculum and materials, the F.A.S.T. Reading Program is aligned to the Common Core Standards and can be seamlessly and confidently integrated into your schoolwide literacy block, including for RTI.

Concept- and Assessment-Driven Program that Meets Students
at their Point of Need

The F.A.S.T. Reading Program is concept based, not rule based. In other words, it eliminates rote memorization and provides a context for kids to understand the English language and its structure. With the F.A.S.T. Reading Program, your students will quickly gain access to the code and then rapidly move on to reading.

The F.A.S.T. Reading Program offers opportunities for differentiated instruction through multiple entry points. An individual diagnostic test determines each student’s starting point, so teachers can tailor lesson plans and let students move at their own pace. Ongoing assessments track each student’s progress to determine when he or she should move to the next level. Even students with learning differences will make measurable gains in as little as eight weeks.

Students Practice Reading with the F.A.S.T. Readers

The F.A.S.T. Readers, sequentially written, decodable books, build on phonetic concepts as they are taught. Engaging and age appropriate, the F.A.S.T. Readers will advance your students’ fluency, vocabulary, and automaticity.
